I had brought my 13 year old son to help me set up and get some work experience. He's taking GCSE Business Studies so I thought this would be a good opportunity to see how different people promote their business and products. He was up for the challenge and did a great job engaging with people at our stall.
It was not as busy as expected, maybe because of the passing of the much loved Queen Elizabeth (who we paid our respects to with a 2 minute silence).
Much to my surprise, nobody wanted to make a card. So I ended up get crafty myself, decorating the teacup my husband had brought me. Still, we met a good few local crafters who were excited to hear that I was offering adult papercrafting workshops in Portishead. They were particularly interested in the Men's Cards Workshop planned for the 23rd of October. Lots of them put their names down on the mailing list so I'm looking forward to meeting them all again in October.
All in all, I'd say it was a positive experience and I will definitely do one again the future. Not every month but maybe 2/3 times a year to let people know about my workshops.
